Hiking, Biking, & Horseback Ridding

Hiking

The hillsides of Yucaipa are a beautiful retreat for individuals in need of a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the Southern California lifestyle. Hills painted with colorful flowers and indigenous plants offer excellent hiking terrain and a fun outing for the entire family to enjoy. Northeast views of San Gorgonio Mountain, the tallest peak in Southern California, can be seen along the vista of the San Bernardino Mountain range. Trailheads are dispersed throughout the community boundaries.

Biking

The Yucaipa community prides itself on welcoming cyclists from throughout the region. Tucked into the hillside of the San Bernardino Mountains, Yucaipa’s air is crisp and clean  – offering the perfect climate for outdoor enthusiasts. Citizens are conscientious when driving and cyclists are given preferential treatment with their own biking lanes as part of the Master Plan of the community. The most notable route for out of town guests is Oak Glen Road, which stretches into the apple orchards of Oak Glen. Cyclists will often be seen grabbing a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants at the top of the hill and then venturing back down through the mountainous community enjoying breathtaking views along the way.

Horseback Riding

Yucaipa is known as an equestrian-friendly community and many families own, ride or promote horseback riding. The rural open spaces offer beautiful trails for horse enthusiasts to enjoy a day of escape. From easy to more challenging terrain there is a full range of horseback riding trails to choose from. The trails are closed to motorized vehicles and are extremely safe for horse and rider. Breathtaking views of the foothills, quiet canyons, and trails that run for miles bring a moment of harmony to our busy world.
